John V. Maurovich Carmel, Indiana
John V. Maurovich is licensed to practice in the State of Indiana and in the United States District Courts for both the Southern and Northern Districts of Indiana. Currently, John concentrates his practice in civil litigation and municipal law. His experience includes work in governmental defense, premises liability, police and firefighter liability, construction law, real property disputes, employment law, and general civil litigation. John also has experience helping clients protect and assert their valuable intellectual property rights in the areas of trademark and copyright. Prior to attending law school, John worked for Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. During his tenure at Liberty Mutual, he led a team of claims adjustors in investigating and negotiating settlements for high value workers' compensation claims. John also personally managed a workers' compensation portfolio with liabilities in excess of $15 million. John's experience required him to creatively strike a balance between both the client's and claimant's interests in order to reach mutually agreeable settlements. While in law school, John was a member of both the Dean's List and the Dean's Tutorial Society, where he conducted lectures and provided tutoring in the area of tort law. Also while in law school, John worked as a law clerk at Sommer Barnard, P.C. where he further developed his negotiation skills by settling intellectual property disputes. John has been active in the community by volunteering for the "We The People" civics competition, the Special Olympics of Indiana, the Leukemia Society of Indiana, and the North American Food Drive.
