Biography
Matthew Miller is a trial attorney that focuses his practice in the areas of insurance defense, public entity/government defense, fire investigations/litigation, insurance coverage, products liability, personal injury, and general civil litigation.
Matthew has worked as in-house counsel for Travelers Insurance Company and State Farm Mutual Insurance Company. His in-house practice areas of experience included: general liability, insurance coverage, personal injury (auto/premises), public sector defense of governmental entities (State, Federal, §1983, etc.), first party defense, products liability, trucking, fire losses, declaratory judgment actions, and investigations (fire/explosions, wrongful death, accident, & miscellaneous), subrogation, and risk transfers.
While working in-house Matthew assisted the insurance carriers in the management of a wide variety of litigation and pre-litigation matters.
Matthew began his career working as a Deputy Attorney General for the Indiana Attorney General's Office where he successfully defended the State of Indiana and State Agencies (Indiana State Police, Department of Transportation, Department of Correction, Department of Natural Resources, Department of Environmental Management, Family & Social Services Administration, and Department of Revenue) in litigation matters.
Over his career Matthew has participated in 20 jury trials to verdict and has represented clients in numerous bench trials in different practice areas.
Matthew takes pride in the ability to assist clients in managing the legal risks associated with day-to-day matters.
