Kent Perkins assists clients in the areas of civil litigation, estate planning and litigation, and municipal defense. He represents clients in both federal and state courts.
Kent helps clients with litigation arising out of real estate transactions, whether landlord/tenant related or residential real estate transactions. In addition, he assists clients in resolving other disputes over property or money, such as those arising from home improvement contracts, agreements for the payment of money, property damage disputes, and injuries occurring on the property of others.
Wills, Trusts & Estates
Kent works with his clients to develop comprehensive estate plans specifically tailored to their financial and family situations. Often these plans include wills, trusts, power of attorney designations, and healthcare directives.
As co-counsel on multiple cases involving claims against governmental entities, Kent deals with issues related to civil rights violations, employment law, and personal injury. The issues in these cases are often complex, involving a mixture of federal and state law. These cases include claims brought against municipalities alleging violations of both state and federal employment rights, personal injury, and wrongful death claims based on both Constitutional violations and violations of state law, and claims for false arrest and imprisonment.
Kent approaches his practice by identifying with the client what is in his or her best interest, whether that is a quick settlement or hard-fought litigation. This requires attention to clients’ needs and concerns as they express them and is facilitated by responses to clients’ questions and updates on case status.
