Biography
Daniel E. Coots concentrates his law practice to representing individuals and entities in the areas of corporate/business law, telecommunications/utility law, real estate transactions, and estate planning/probate administration.
Dan’s corporate/business law practice includes assisting his clients in transactions involving mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, covenants not to compete, shareholder buyouts and disputes, employment contracts and wage claims, and other general contract needs. In addition, Dan assists his clients with the formation, organizational, and management needs of his clients’ businesses, as well as business succession planning for closely held business entities.
In Dan’s telecommunications/utility law practice, he represents entities ranging from a major wireless communications carrier to large and small tower companies in all facets of wireless communications infrastructure transactions and implementation. He performs extensive contract negotiations and drafting, and provides land use/planning/zoning representation in various jurisdictions throughout the State of Indiana.
Dan assists individuals and businesses with residential and commercial real estate transactions. He advises his clients in all stages of a real estate transaction through the closing, including document preparation. In addition, Dan helps his clients with land planning and zoning needs with local governmental/zoning authorities to allow for each client’s contemplated development/use of real estate.
As life and financial needs change, Dan advises and guides his clients through the estate planning cycle, from the newly married couple with small children to those clients with more advanced estate tax planning needs. His estate and trust administration practice covers all administration areas, including the preparation of income and transfer tax returns.
